05Sep Zoom H1 Shock mounts back on Tuesday
Thanks to everyone who’s already picked up a Zoom H1 shock mount. I’ve gone through 15 pounds of plastic and cases of rubber bands. The makerbot has been so busy printing shock mounts that I haven’t had a chance to create anything else. I have another 3d printer on order so hopefully once that’s up and running there will be some new stuff in the NOOB Store.
But for now Zoom H1 shock mounts are back in stock and start shipping out on Tuesday.

Wow, those 3d printers aren’t cheap… I was thinking you were making the shock mounts as just a side hobby. I guess there’s some money to be made in it 🙂

I wasn’t expecting there would be this much demand. I have a design for a slider and some other cool stuff that I haven’t had a chance to test out because the printer is tied up making shock mounts. I’m not going to quit my day job, but I just broken even on the first printer and figured it would be nice to have a second one that can print larger objects and hopefully do some prototyping. I don’t know if the second printer will brake even anytime soon, but it’ll be fun to mess around with.

The bottom of my shockmount doesnt have threads on it.. i saw a picture where yours did..
Should mine?

The very bottom off the shock mount doesn’t have 1/4 20 threads. The treads are recessed in side of the whole about 3/8 of an inch were the black metal square is located at the bottom of the shock mount.
Hope that helps.

is there anyway i can mount it as such?
or give it 1/4 20 threads?
like i said i saw a picture where it appeared as if you had done this..

Is it missing the 1/4 20 thread insert? Send me a picture, if for some reason I didn’t add it to your shock mount let me know and I can send you the insert on the house. Just drop me an E-mail.
