17May Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR Di LD Macro
Time to remove yet another lens from my bag. The Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens has a very useful focal range on a full frame camera and gives you a lot of reach on a crop sensor camera. Tamron Claims this is a Macro, but 1:3.9 doesn’t quit make it. However that does mean you can focus down to 13 inches, which can be handy.
If you’re interested, you can buy my copy of the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens with a Tiffen 67mm UV filter for $350 plus $10 shipping. Retail is $499 so that seems like a pretty good discount, but if no one is interested, it’ll be on ebay starting on Tuesday. If you have any questions just let me know.
Gone to Ebay

I have the new Tamron 24-70mm with image stabilization coming soon for review, are you looking at the one too DeeJay?

That is on my list of lenses to review, but I probably wont be an owner. Image stabilization is a nice feature, but I think I’m going to pick up a used Canon 24-70mm f2.8. The used price is down around $850 which makes it a very attractive lens for the price.

When you used this lense, in what situations would you use it?

Normally I would use the 28-75mm when I don’t have time to change between prime lenses. It comes in handy if you are filming with out a permit and need to get 3 or 4 shots without taking the time to change lenses.

Does this work on a 5D Mark 2 or is it only for the smaller chips like the rebel of 7D?
Thanks
