09Jul Hand held DSLR shooting Tip
Small DSLR camera’s don’t have a lot of weight which makes them a little hard to use handheld. The trick is to use 3 points of connection to create a balanced support. If you use your camera strap as a 3rd point of connection and a pivot point when moving, it can greatly increase the stability of hand held shots.

It’s great to know others are using this technique in a pinch. I used this to prior to getting a shoulder support and has definitely been practical in those not-so-important videos. I don’t even like being completely locked down to begin with!
