27Sep NES PC DIY build
As I was doing all of that research on FreeNas yesterday I came across a very cool DIY build project. Basically the build guide shows you how to turn an old NES case into a very cool little HTPC. You can also run an emulator on this little guy and play almost any old console game you like.
If you like the idea but don’t want to spend the time an effort on the build, you can find them depending on the specs. That’s a about $200 more then the price of the hardware, but it would save you from putting your old NES box under the knife.

I haven’t looked at a project like this in over 10years! I built mine a long, long time ago and I think it’s still out in the garage collecting dust. I like to think that some day I’ll go back and fire it up again, but I know that day will likely never come. The machine I built was very underpowered. When I built it, there weren’t things like Sandy Bridges and Blu-ray Discs. It was however a really fun build to have accomplished!

Now days you can fit a quad core system into a 6.7 inch square space. That’s a lot of computing power in such a tiny package.
