30Nov Canon 6d manual posted, audio level meters confirmed!
I’ve been looking all over the place trying to find out if the Canon 6d includes audio level meters. I know a number of you have asked if this was the case. I can now confirm that it does in fact have level meters as you can see from this screen cap of page 210 in the manual.
The manual just posted online today (here’s a link). This might be my light reading tonight so if I find anything really interesting I’ll let you know. Also the EOS Remote utility app for android just showed up in the play store. Looks like live view mode is supported. It also looks like you will be able to get a live view on your phone or tablet as well as the camera at the same time. For those of you looking for a wireless monitor solution this could be a very useful feature.

As far as I know, Wi-Fi is disabled on the camera when in movie mode.. might have to read that manual, not entirely sure!

If you look on that same page, the video mode display shows that there is a wifi off/on icon indication for movie mode. It seems like it wouldn’t be there if this feature was disabled, but if you look on page 203 it says that “under tab 3 if you set Wi-Fi to enable, you cannot shoot movies. I think Canon is trying to make the answer a little harder to find.

If you are able to use an iPhone or an iPad as an external monitor or as a monitor, this could be a real game changer.

In video mode just press the info button a few times until it shows up on screen.

That hasn’t worked… I have gone through the manual front to back with no luck.
