24Apr Hero 3 Protective slip on lens protector
If you need to use the microphone port or HDMI port on the Gopro hero 3, you’ll have to use the naked case which doesn’t provide any protection for the lens. If you are like me you’ll still be exposing the hero 3 to danger even if you aren’t planning to dunk it under water. While the hero 3 is reasonably durable, the lens is left exposed when it’s out of the case.
If you want something to protect it this slip on lens protector will do the trick. It’s basically just a clear lens with a rubberized foam material that holds it in place. The glass on the hero 3 is protected and you still have access to all of the ports. Plus the protector doesn’t have any noticeable effect on the image quality.
The slip on lens protector will set you back about $14, which isn’t bad considering a scratched lens could render the hero 3’s footage useless. It’s a little overpriced for what it is but no worse than the rest of the hero 3 accessories on the market. I don’t do much underwater shooting so this will probably get a lot of use with the battle cage I have coming. I’m surprised there aren’t more options like this out there.

Those are pretty cool units, I think there are some free flight sims online that will get you used to the controls before you buy. Quadcopters take some practice before you’ll be getting amazing shots.

How does the video look, any reflections or degrading in the video?

Video still looks great and no reflection. I’d say it’s a good buy.
