06Dec Canon 6d $1415 on Amazon
Not sure what the heck is going on with the 6d, is Canon already planning to drop it? The price has fallen yet again on Amazon, yesterday it was $1500, now you can pick it up for $1415 with free shipping. I wonder why the price is bouncing around so much. You’re thoughts?

Maybe they overestimated the demand and it’s not selling as well as they thought it would. I’ve always been a bit lukewarm about it.

The 6d isn’t a bad camera, When it was priced around $2200 i’d tell people to get an old 5dmkII, but now that it’s at $1400, I’d say the camera is a darn good value. Similar AF system to the 5dmkII with a better center point AF focus, slightly better low light then the mark III, and most of the video features ML adds without the need to hack. When i’m on the road I always have the 6d with me even though I own two 5dmkIII bodies, the light compact size of the 6d makes it very attractive to me.

Yeah, I’d taken your advice back then and bought a used 5D mkii which I’m still using daily. I’ll probably get a Mkiii once the price comes down enough.

Maybe they are trying to get me to switch back to Canon from M43.

The price started its free fall as soon as the Sony A7/A7r were announced…

Could be, those are both attractive looking cameras.

The price jumped back up to $1799 in just a few days. Black Friday sale? Wish I caught it earlier.

I think it’s still sitting at around $1550 on ebay right now if you still want one.

Yeah, I was looking at a 7D, but if I can get a 6D for nearly the same price I’m going to jump on it. I’m going to buy it within the next few days.

Probably canon will announce a canon 6d mark ii for the photokina event in 2014 and i think canon for the past 2 years has overpriced its dslr.when canon 5d mark iii was announced its price was 3500usd and now its selling for 2899 usd. For me that should have been the starting price for canon 5d mark iii and for the canon 6d the starting price should have been 1600 usd. People now are smart ,they want value for money which the competition is offering with their 2 sd card slots ,100% viewfinder and a high dynamic range. The canon 6d with its only one cross type focus point makes me hesitate to buy it. I prefer to wait and enjoy my canon 60d at the moment .if the canon 6 d would have got 9 crosstype focus pts like my canon 60d it would have been a perfect entry level full frame camera .

The center focus point on the 6d is one of the best in low light i’ve used and i own the 5dmkIII. You get used to having only one good focus point as long as you’re not shooting a lot of fast action. Canon will probably always cripple the lower model camers with some missing feature to keep up the price on their higher end line.
