25Nov Seiki 39 inch 4k monitor price drop $489
If you’re looking to move up to a 4k editing monitor, prices just got better. The Seiki 39 inch 4k panel just dropped in price from $699 to $489 with free Amazon prime shipping. That gives you just shy of 4 times the working area of a 1080p panel (3840 × 2160p). This basically means you can have a full res display of your editing area while still having more then enough room for your timeline and clips on a single panel.
Just remember, if you’re looking for a 4k gaming monitor, you might want to look elsewhere. These monitors have a max refresh rate of 30 Hz. That’s just fine for editing and graphic design work, but it puts a pretty hard limit on gaming. Still, a 39 inch 4k panel sure would be nice for productivity applications.

4K is beginning to look tempting…
Why “just shy of 4 times the working area of a 1080p panel (3840 × 2160p)”? That looks exactly 4 times for my maths.

You are correct David, It should have said “just shy of 4k” i.e. 4096 vs 3840.
